Checking in from the road

Hill country are coming home after an exciting weekend of festivals and border crossings. After our first international show in toronto, we were off to buffalo for thursdays on the square. We have some great footage from the stage that i will be posting soon on the hcr youtube channel. After our set in buffalo i had the pleasure of watching the los lonely boys. Those brothers do work. They are my new favorite blues trio.
Friday we were off to allgood music fest. It was a family affair for me. Galactic, robert randolph, moe, claypool are all old friends and tour mates. It was great fun catching up with them. I have to say the highlight for me was having jackie greene sit in on keys with hill country. He played the whole set with us and totally rocked the house. My california soul brother.  We were the first band on the main stage, so we were excited and surprised to see our picture on the front page of the dominion post the next morning at the gas station! Finally we made our way back up to new york yesterday for a nice family fest in pleasantville. It was great playing with big head todd again, plus making new friends with back door slam. Am i rambling? I think so. Coast to coast? Definitely. There is no place like home. Thank you dorothy… – cody dickinson

June 4th 2009

Hill Country Revue are looking forward to getting after it this summer on the heels of our first release MAKE A MOVE. The CD release party in Memphis was a huge success and a great way to kick off this run of shows. We are excited about the response to the record. The airplay YOU CAN MAKE IT is getting on AAA is a surprise. Feels Good! Thanks to all the stations spinning our music..

We have been working on lots of new music. The plan is to work up enough material to play two full shows, back to back, without repeating any songs. Lofty ambitions for a new band, but we have to be prepared and ahead of the curve. Hopefully we will have a nice variety of new songs for the Dave Matthews Band shows.

We love your feedback, so please log in to our message board and share your thoughts. We promise to pay attention!

If anyone happens to know Dr Dre or Quincy Jones, please tell them we want them to produce our next record.. That’s the dream.

Do Work.

Thanks- Cody

Tour wrap up

Hill Country Revue wants to show serious love and gratitude to every single person who came out to support us on our recent east coast tour. Opening for the Allstars has been a great thing for this band. We are also blessed with the most wonderful team of rock n roll professionals ever to be assembled. Red Light Management, High Road Touring, Razor and Tie records, Big Hassle Media- these people are truly the best.

Not to mention our crew who work tirelessly to make these shows happen.

Last weekend was huge for hcr. We shot our first music video in Athens, then headed over to Orange Beach and opened for Widespread Panic with NMA. I think Panic sound better than ever. They brought the heat to go along with the thick Southern Alabama humidity. Jojo, JB, Todd, David, Sonny and Jimmy are so cool and talented. I had the pleasure of watching them rehearse backstage during setbreak, and was blown away by their professionalism and genuine respect for one another. Not to mention, they let me go nuts during the drum solo and have the time of my life playing washboard, shakers, cowbells and floor toms! Awesome…

I hope to see each and every person reading this at Hill Country Revue’s cd release party at Minglewood Theatre in Memphis on May 22, if not sooner. HAPPY JAZZFEST!- Cody

On The Road Again

Hill Country Revue is looking forward to this upcoming March/ April tour. The last run with North Mississippi Allstars was a blast and this one looks to be even better. We are in Gainesville today for the first show and it feels great. We want to thank all the cool people who came out and supported the last run. It was a huge success! We appreciate each and every one of you..

With the upcoming release of our debut record, Make a Move, Hill Country Revue is buzzing with excitement. We are still feeling residual energy from our showcase at SXSW and are blown away by the sheer talent shown by all the Memphis bands representing in Austin last weekend. We are proud to be a part of the crew! Five Dollar Cover looks fantastic too..
